Biography
Janet Weiss, MD is a physician specializing in the evaluation and treatment of patients who have developed injuries or illness as a result of chemical, physical, or biological agents.
She is Board Certified in: Toxicology through the American Board of Toxicology (DABT) and by the American Board of Medical Toxicology. Preventive Medicine (with subspecialty certification in both Medical and Environmental Toxicology and Occupational Medicine through the American Board of Preventive Medicine). Pathology (with subspecialty certification in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology through the American Board of Pathology). She provides clinical evaluations and treatment, including epidemiology and site assessments,
of individual patients and populations with suspected illness secondary
to workplace or environmental chemical or biological exposures.
Her areas of expertise include: Medical Toxicology, Environmental Toxicology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Forensic Toxicology. Her particular interest is cancer causation, prevention, and treatment. Dr. Weiss has been in private practice for over 25 years after receiving training at Jefferson Medical College, Stanford, Yale, Johns Hopkins, University of California San Francisco, the California Poison Control Center, and the National Institute of Health. She has consulted for OSHA, EPA, the California Poison Control Center, NIOSH, and the American Industrial Hygiene Association, among others. She is the author of 20 peer reviewed publications and book chapters. Dr. Weiss is licensed in CA and has offices in Berkeley and Fresno, CA. She does consulting work in all states.
